Description
Zataar is a mixture of spices, containing ground sumac, roasted sesame seeds and red herbs. Zatar comes from Arab countries and is popular mainly in Morocco, Egypt, Iran, Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, Armenia. Zatar is used to season meat and vegetables, or in combination with olive oil, it is used to marinate olives. Grease pita bread or flatbread (flat bread - tortillas, Spanish bread, piadina) with Zatar. Zatar's flavor can be spicy, herbal, nutty or toasty.
