Cretan Extra Virgin Olive Oil P.D.O (Protected Designation of Origin) Sitia of high quality, award-winning (29 international awards). It has been recognized as one of the top 50 olive oils in the world and is produced in eastern Crete, in the Sitia District of Lasithi Province.
Oils with an acidity of less than 0.3% are considered to be high-end oils because of their low acidity level, the harvesting method, the pressing method, the quality of the olives used for pressing and the storage method.
Olive oil is a key component of the Mediterranean diet considered by many to be the healthiest. Extra virgin olive oil is one of the cleanest and healthiest food fats. It contains large amounts of oleic acid which contributes to the cardiovascular system. It lowers the levels of LDL ("bad" cholesterol) and triglycerides in the blood. It contains antioxidants and polyphenols that neutralize the harmful effects of work on the human body present in our center.
It has a fruity aroma and is rich in natural antioxidants.
Used for frying and baking, but mainly for vegetable salads and cheeses
